This is your chance to take a helicopter flight along 617 Squadron's training route down the Derwent Valley and over the twin dams, reliving the history of the daring Dam Busters raid over 60 years on.
In the Spring of 1943, the Lancaster crews of 617 Squadron began training for a top secret mission. The Squadron’s training was conducted along the Derwent Valley in the Derbyshire countryside West of Sheffield. The mission was the famous "Dam Busters" raid on the Ruhr Valley in Germany. You will fly along 617 Squadron’s training route down the Derwent Valley and over the twin dams in a Bell 206 Long Ranger.
